  Mysuru Palace  

Mysuru Palace is one of the most visited monuments in India. it is also known as the Amba Vilas Palace. There is a Private Residential museum in the old portion of the palace that gives insight into the life and lifestyle of Wadiyar.  Shree Chamundeshwari Temple 

Sri Chamundeshwari Temple is Located on the top of Chamundi hills. A flight of 1000 steps takes you to the temple. The temple is also accessible by road and is around 13 Kilometers from City Center. There is a Viewpoint with a telescope on the way to the temple and a magnificent view of the city is seen from this point. from the intersection near the viewpoint, you take a deviation road to go to the huge monolith statue of  Nandi, the Bull.

  Saint Philomena’s Cathedral

Saint Philomena’s Cathedral is one of the Largest Churches in the Country. it has been built in the Gothic style with stained glass windows and twin spires, which are 175ft in height.it is over 200 years old. The Holy Mass is performed daily in Kannada, Tamil, and English.

  Mysuru Zoo

Mysuru Zoo is one of the oldest and most popular Zoos in southern India.

It is home to a wide range of animals from giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, rhinos, zebras, gaur, hippopotamus, birds, etc. The Zoo area is around 80 acres. There is a battery Operated Vehicle that is available for Tourists who don’t want to walk.

 Lalitha Mahal Palace

Lalitha Mahal Palace is the Second Largest Palace in Mysuru. it is White in Color it gets from granite stone. It has Victorian-style interiors and is now a five-star hotel. it is located at a distance of 5 Kilometers from the City center at the foot of Chamundi Hills.

  Rail Museum  

it is one of the oldest rail museums and the second-largest rail museum in India. The museum has a battery-operated mini-train for children. it has photographs and paintings depicting the growth of railways in India. It also has several vintage locomotives.

 Jaganmohan Palace

Jaganmohan Palace was constructed as an alternate retreat for the Royal Family. In 1915 it was converted into an Art Gallery. It contains the largest collection of artifacts. These artifacts are paintings, weapons of war, brass wares, antique coins, musical instruments, furniture, sculptures, etc. It has an auditorium where cultural programs are held.

  Mysuru Silk  Factory

Mysuru is known all over the world for its Silk. The Factory was started by Maharaja in 1912 by importing looms. It is Now Managed by Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC). You can also purchase from  KSIC Showrooms which are available at Garuda Mall., near Zoo, near K.R.Circle, and factory premises.

  Karanji Lake 

Karanji Lake was Built 100 years ago and is spread over 80 acres. it has a beautiful park and kids’ play area in the lake area. There is boating in the lake. it also has a butterfly park on an island in the lake.

Mysuru Sand Sculpture Museum is a unique museum for sand art and the first in India. it is spread over 13500 sq, ft and has 150 sculptures on 16 Themes.

  Oriental Research Institute

Oriental Research Institute was originally called Oriental Library. it has a collection of over 50000 manuscripts in Sanskrit and  Kannada. It was started in 1891

The name was changed to Oriental Research Institute in the year 1943.

The Regional Museum of National History was inaugurated in 1995. it is located on the banks of Karanji Lake. it has information about the flora and fauna of southern India. it has guided tours and Film shows.

 Postal Museum 

Postal Museum is set up by the Indian Postal Department in the Main building of the Postal Training Centre which is housed in the Karanji Mansion. it is must visit for children from the Internet Generation. Rare Collections of stamps are displayed. The first stamp issued by the Department of Post is on Display. Alongside different types of badges worn by employees, weights, weighing scales, morse instruments, journals, letterboxes, the attire of postman, bags, belts, slings, etc are displayed.

 Celebrity Wax Museum

 Brindavan Gardens 

Brindavan Gardens is one of the most beautifully laid-out terrace gardens in the world. it is located at the Krishnarajasagar Dam site, at a distance of 24 km from Mysuru City. The main attraction is the Musical Fountain. Even though located in the Mandya District, Brindavan Gardens has been a Must See for Tourists visiting Mysuru.
